Inter-Browser CompatibilityMost people use Internet Explorer when browsing the Internet, however, there are many versions of Internet Explorer (the latest being version 7) and they do not all work the same. Apple Mac Computers usually use Safari (which also has many versions) and other popular browsers include Mozilla Firefox, Opera (each with many published versions). While your website may look great in one browser, it may not look right in another browser. This can affect how your visitors perceive your site. Part of the problem is that the published Internet standards do not cover what happens when web pages with errors are published. Each browser may handle error conditions in a different manner. The other part of the problem is that some browsers have well known, documented bugs which means that they do not meet some aspect of the published standards. We are constantly checking our websites in a variety of browsers and have a thorough well-established method for automatically handling Inter-browser compatibility issues. If an issue in a particular browser comes to our attention, we can make an adjustment that applies to all sites. This is part of the service we provide as Webmasters.

Helpful HintMulti Section Website Architectures (like this one) allow larger websites to be organised better for easy navigation. Most websites are Single Section "ladder" sites (page links on the left-hand side like a ladder) with very long pages. Create a Section and break the long pages up into bite-sized pages that fit onto the screen. |
