Robert LeeI began my career in Software Development in 1982, writing "The Small Business Series - Accounts" Programme - an early predecessor to "Mind your own Business". We gained a client base of over 3000 clients in the mid-eighties. I have written extensively in the "ones and zeros" of Assembly Language - the inner language of computers, including user interface routines, communicating with speech synthesis and digital display chips. I have also written in Pascal and Basic extensively. In 1997, assisted with the conversion of a large (1,000,000 line, 1000 dataentry screens) School Administration Software System from DOS to windows. Within six months, I became a shareholder in the company and contributed to the successful rollout of the Windows version. I was also responsible for rolling out the new pricing structure, turning the business into a successful and profitable software house. I have since developed a generic Performance Evaluation Software system which has been used for such diverse areas as Fitness Evaluation, Health Evaluation and Business Evaluation. I was involved with the successful 2004 Bay of Plenty Steamers season which saw us lift the Ranfurly Shield from Auckland for the first time, and defend it successfully against the powerful Super franchises Waikato, Wellington & Otago. Only some debatable decisions by the referee allowed Canterbury with 13 All Blacks lift the shield from us. Most recently, I have teamed up with Reed, who has considerable web development expertise. The internet has changed everything, including how we publish software. Apart from making websites easy, the website101 website managment system allows me to publish my software in the middle of a clients website. Reed is a great guy to work with, has a lovely wife and kids look forward to many years working together. |

Helpful HintMulti Section Website Architectures (like this one) allow larger websites to be organised better for easy navigation. Most websites are Single Section "ladder" sites (page links on the left-hand side like a ladder) with very long pages. Create a Section and break the long pages up into bite-sized pages that fit onto the screen. |
